The 1998 Volkswagen GTI VR6 Mk3 - abbreviated as "VW Golf '98" or "VW GTI Mk3"[1] - is a front-wheel drive hot hatch by Volkswagen.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 4 and all subsequent main series titles since Forza Motorsport 6 except Forza Horizon 3.
Synopsis[]
The GTI VR6 Mk3 is a model of the Mk3 Golf offered from 1995 to 1999 as the North American equivalent to the Golf VR6 from the international market.
Different to the smaller puristic Mk2 GTI, the GTI VR6 was geared towards refinement and speed in order to move the Golf brand upmarket. Similar to the Volkswagen Corrado coupé, it is powered by a 2.8 liter VR6 engine with 172 hp (128 kW) that offers superior performance and greater smoothness over the Mk2 GTI at the cost of more weight. The overall package is rounded by a sport suspension, 15-inch wheels, traction control and several comfort creatures.[2]
The GTI VR6 was offered again as the Mk4 Golf in 2000, which also became available as the limited edition Golf R32 in 2003.
