The 2022 Volkswagen Golf R - abbreviated as "VW Golf R '22" - is an all-wheel-drive compact hatchback by Volkswagen.
It appears in Forza Horizon 5 as part of the Super Speed Car Pack, which was introduced with Series 26, and also appears in Forza Motorsport (2023).
Synopsis[]
The Golf R is a performance compact hatchback that is based on, and is the top-end trim option, of the eighth-generation Golf and replaces the 2021 model from the mid-cycle refreshed seventh-generation.
The two-liter, turbocharged engine now develops 315 hp (235 kW), up from 296, while torque figures remain the same at 280 ft·lb (380 N·m).[2] This updated model features stiffer suspension and a torque-vectoring rear differential that can send up to 50% of the torque to the rear wheels.[3]
Transmission choices remain the same with either a seven-speed DSG transmission or a six-speed manual.[4]
