The 2008 Volkswagen Touareg R50 - abbreviated as "VW Touareg" - is an all-wheel drive performance SUV by Volkswagen.

Synopsis

The Touareg R50 was launched at the 2007 Australian International Motor Show as the third Volkswagen "R" performance model after the Volkswagen Golf R32 and Passat R36.

The "R50" naming comes from its engine displacement of five liters. It was offered with a 5.0-liter V10 diesel engine that produces 346 hp (258 kW) and 626 ft·lb (849 N·m) of torque, pushing the car from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in around 6.6 seconds.
